BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Paul R. Green Jr.

Paul Green brings real world experience to the Area 3 campagin for school board.

MILITARY: He is a decorated military veteran whose 24-year United States Air Force career resulted in his receiving a Top Secret security clearance and his being promoted to the grade of Senior Master Sergeant -- a position that placed him in the top two percent of all enlisted members in the Air Force.

His military background included 16 years of leadership and management experience as a Communications and Computer Systems Plans and Programs manager with duties that required him to (1) assist the end user define the need, (2) prepare and process the appropriate requests for submission to the proper approval level, (3) brief various levels of leadership to effect that approval, (4) coordinate with all relevant engineering, budget and installation teams and other agencies, to ensure proper scheduling, (5) coordinate laterally regarding preparation and installation and (6) ensure proper funding for both equipment and manpower. Additionally he (7) computed the need for and requested needed manpower and (8) oversaw scheduled training for any ancillary computer assets (including software). Atop those duties, he (9) managed war and other type plans for the organization and (10) was the organizational resource officer ( prepared and managed equipment and personnel budgets).

Paul was recognized more than once as Airman of the Month and as Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Month or Year. He was the Air Force Communications Command NCO Academy Honor Graduate and was the Air Force Logistics Command (included McClellan AFB) Program Manager of the Year. While stationed in San Antonio, Texas, he was designated Honorary Mayor of the original San Antonio by the City Council as a result of his being singularly responsible for staffing, presenting and gaining approval for a proposal to hold a three-day 500 bed Air Force Sergeants Association convention at the Hilton and other spillover hotels respectively on and in the area of the San Antonio River Walk.

While on active duty, Paul also earned his Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Community College of the Air Force plus his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Maryland and also completed 28 of 32 hours toward a Master in Science degree in Management from the LaVerne University (outside Los Angeles).

Additionally, he served for one year as interim pastor of First Filipino Baptist Church (since renamed Los Angeles Filipino Baptist Church), Los Angeles, CA, following the leaving of one pastor and the arrival of the called replacement from the Philippines.

For 16 years after retiring from the USAF, Paul worked as an independent contractor Regional Vice President with what then was known as Primerica Financial Services, a subsidiary of Citigroup. He held insurance, investment and real estate licenses plus additional certifications such as Consumer Finance Lender license and variable contracts certification. Today he is a 14-year Notary Public licensed by the Secretary of State with the current addendum designation of Certified Notary Signing Agent.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Paul's community involvement has been long and distinguished.

GENERAL

Paul previously served as a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) International Executive Council as the elected president of Division 14 that encompassed the states of Alaska, Oregon and Washington. More recently he served as president of AFSA's then 1300 member and Auxiliary local Camellia Chapter.

He also served on the North Highlands Recreation and Park Board and was appointed to the Contractors State License Board by Governor Schwarzenegger specifically to represent senior citizens and generally to protect all consumers by determining and overseeing licensing, training, testing and enforcement of the 300,000 California licensed contractors while, at the same time, being mindful that all actions needed to be legal, moral and ethical so that the Board, through its regulations and policies, respectively did not place onerous requirements on the industry under regulation or on the staff the Board oversaw through the CSLB Registrar. His appointment to the CSLB later was confirmed by the State Senate without dissent.

Most recently, other McClellan Restoration Advisory Board (toxic cleanup) community members elected Paul to serve as RAB Co-chair with responsibility to serve cooperatively alongside the Air Force Co-chair appointee while, at the same time, representing the community's interests as expressed through coordination with them relative to neighborhoods or their diverse representations such as religious, business, or environmental, for example.

On this Board, Paul represents the education community. He has served in this capacity since 2001, and continues to regularly provide both written and verbal cleanup status updates to (to include problems and successes) at school board meetings or via E-mail to Board members and District superintendents.

RECENT RECOGNITION: Paul was recognized by local Public Broadcasting Station, KVIE, as Volunteer of the Year for 2001 during which time he regularly continued to oversee phone banks and to coordinate all other on-site volunteers as on-air studio captain, and by the Antelope-Highlands Chamber of Commerce in 1999 as Businessman of the Year.

PERSONAL: Paul is married to the former Vivian M. Johnson of Manila, Philippines. They have five children, Paul III, a graduate of Center High School, Antelope, CA, and Hector, Jeremy, Jubilee and Jennifer-Ruth, each a graduate of Holmes Elementary School in the Rio Linda Union School District and a Grant Joint Union High School District high school. Three of the five children went on to attend college and received degrees. A nephew and niece, along with other family members, currently reside with Paul and Vivian. They attend Sierra View Elementary School in the Rio Linda Union School District.
